About
Growing up in south Saskatchewan,
I was heavily influenced by both of my grandmothers, in
their approach to food. From early on, I knew that I wanted
to become a chef. I successfully completed the S.A.I.T.
Professional Cooking Program in 1997, attaining my Journeyman
Certification and Red Seal Designation in November 1999.
I had the opportunity to apprentice under Chef Steve Tremblay
and learned the importance of client satisfaction and sound
cooking techniques.
After obtaining my Journeyman
and Red Seal, I was the First Dining Room Chef at a members-only
Golf Course in Country Hills. After this, I received an
offer from celebrity Chef Michael Allemeier to be the Grand
Manger Chef of Teatro Restaurant. Learning classic Italian
dishes from chefs brought directly from Italy increased
my own personal repertoire of cuisine.
Prior to leaving Calgary I worked
under Chef Ned Bell and Chef Chris Grafton as the Sous Chef
of Murrieta’s West Coast Bar and Grill for three years.
I periodically return to Calgary
to teach at the Cook Book Company, instructing cooking classes
of all cuisines, combining my love of food and teaching.
I have done TV appearances on The Big Breakfast and on Shaw
TV’s in the kitchen series, and I was invited to compete
in the 2011 Gold Medal Plate in Saskatoon. With my extensive
training and professional cooking background I will tailor
a menu to your taste buds for the enjoyment of you and your
guests.
